The Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 squad has travelled to the east as a new race week already awaits us, with the Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland, closing the first half of the 2024 MotoGP™ World Championship before the paddock goes on a summer break. After a tricky Dutch Grand Prix, both Pedro Acosta and Augusto Fernandez will be eager to give their all the Sachsenring, a layout where we expect the RC16s of both riders to be more competitive.
As every week, Pedro Acosta will be making his debuts in the premier class on the 3.671 km layout of thirteen corners including ten on the left, the shortest of the calendar. Assen was a challenging weekend for the rookie with a sad end unfortunately, as we saw the #31 crash in the final race while he was on his way for a solid 7th place. We learn and we move on, and that is what Acosta will be looking to do this week in Germany, on a layout that he has quite enjoyed in the past, as we saw him win two times in three Grand Prix participations, the most recent being last season in Moto2™. Let’s see how the rookie manages the RC16 on the Sachsenring, as we hope to see him fight for the top positions!
Augusto Fernandez scored points in Assen after another challenging campaign at the TT Circuit Assen, a small reward for all the efforts put in by both the team and himself to find solutions to improve his feeling on the bike. Sachsenring was good to Fernandez back in 2023 as he finished 11th of the German Grand Prix. While the situation is different a year later, the Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 team continues to put all the efforts possible to improve the Spaniard’s performances and close the gap on the rest of the riders.
Final round before the summer break, so you don’t want to miss the track action! As usual, we will start on Friday with Free Practice 1 at 10:45 local time (GMT+2) for forty-five minutes, which will be followed in the afternoon with Practice at 15:00, for an hour. The first highlights of the week not to miss will be on Saturday with the qualifying sessions starting at 10:50, just shortly after Free Practice 2. If races at the short Sachsenring are entertaining to watch, wait for the Tissot Sprint at 15:00 on Saturday afternoon, it could be one not to miss out on! Finally, after ten minutes of warm up in the morning, Sunday will see the main race start at 14:00 (GMT+2), for 30 laps. Let’s turn left, and let’s get on the gas team!
