#BritishGP - July 29, 2024

The Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 team is excited to finally get back on track after three well deserved weeks of summer break! The 2024 MotoGP™ World Championship will resume this week at the iconic Silverstone circuit for the British Grand Prix, the tenth round, launching the second half of 2024. It will be a special weekend in the United Kingdom as all MotoGP™ teams will display a special delivery to celebrate the 75th birthday of the championship. As Pedro Acosta and Augusto Fernandez reunite with their RC16s, the British Grand Prix is set to be one to remember!

Sixth in the standings halfway through his first season in the main class, we do not need to introduce anymore Pedro Acosta who impressed us all in the first half of 2024. With already two podiums on a Sunday, three sprint podiums and a front row start, the rookie showed the world what he was made off, and it is without a doubt that he will be looking for much more in the next few weeks. In Moto2™ last year, the number 31 was on the podium after starting from the pole position, so Silverstone is a track that he has had good fortune on in the past. Learning it on the MotoGP™ bike won’t be a piece of cake, but Acosta will be eager to get back on track, and we know that when Sharks are hungry, they bite harder.

Augusto Fernandez will be also excited to get back on track after a busy summer training, as the next few rounds are set to be key for the Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 rider. In the wet conditions of 2023, Fernandez was impressive and grabbed an eleventh place on his debuts in Silverstone, and it is a track that he has already won on in the past, so we hope that once all things are put together, he can deliver a strong performance in front of British fans, who are expected in numbers.

The premier class will get back to it as track action begins on Friday morning with Free Practice 1 at 10:45 local time (GMT+1), followed in the afternoon with the one-hour Practice at 15:00. The Boring-Saturday mood stops now, as MotoGP™’s Super Saturday returns, with the qualifying sessions kicking off at 10:50 LT, shortly after Free Practice 2.  In the afternoon, la Crème de la Crème of MotoGP™ will line up together for the first points at stake of this round, when lights of the Tissot Sprint go out at 15:00, for ten laps. Finally, on a schedule slightly different than usual, the main race will take place on Sunday at 13:00 (GMT+1), for twenty laps. Let’s get the party started!

"Happy to be back to the competition after a few weeks off. It's been good to disconnect, spend time with my family, and train a lot. We have a hectic second half of the season ahead of us so we will have to work hard and constantly. Silverstone is a circuit that I like, the weather is complicated but we will see how we manage it this year with the MotoGP. It will certainly be different from the other Grand Prix as we are celebrating the 75th anniversary of MotoGP, a milestone I am very proud of and happy to experience in person. Let's get back on the gas!"

"I cannot wait to be back racing in Silverstone after the summer break. Disconnecting was good, I enjoyed family, friends while training back at home to be as ready as possible for the next weeks which will be busy. Silverstone is a track that I like, and I had great results in the past. Last season was not bad for us, so  I am looking forward to a good weekend and try to finish in the top 10 to start this second part in a good way.

Team Manager
"After a well deserved summer break, it is time for the Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 squad to start the second part of what is already an exciting 2024 season. We are heading to the longest track of the year, in Silverstone, for the British Grand Prix. The atmosphere in the UK is always special, fans are very passionate and always welcome us warmly, and loudly. This weekend will be very special for the MotoGP World Championship, as all teams from the premier class will display special deliveries to celebrate the 75th birthday of the championship. Our rookie star Pedro Acosta had an unbelievable start to this career in the main class, currently 6th in the standings, but we all know that he wants much more. He spent some days in Austria during the summer at the Pierer Mobility headquarters and at the Red Bull Athletes center to prepare himself in the best way possible for this second half. Silverstone is a tough circuit to learn with its width and connected corners, but there is no doubt that he will be fully motivated to do great in England. Augusto Fernandez had a strong weekend here last year, and was impressive in wet conditions. We know that he will come back very motivated to showcase his talent and skills, so let’s see what we can do together this weekend. Let the celebrations begin!
