A key round 11 awaits the Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 team as a new race week lies ahead of us, with the squad traveling to the beautiful region of Styria, in Austria, for the Motorrad Grand Prix von Österreich. It is a very special stop of the year for the team on Pierer Mobility’s and Red Bull’s lands, so Pedro Acosta and Augusto Fernandez will be eager to bring home a good result on the internationally known 4.34km Austrian layout.
Coming from a decent weekend in Silverstone with a top 5-finish in the Sprint and a 9th place on Sunday with his white RC16, Pedro Acosta will be one to look out for, as the rookie, long-time member of Pierer Mobility family, will race for the first time on a MotoGP™ bike in Austria, in front of fans who will be for sure excited to see him do his things. The Red Bull Ring is a track where the Shark has performed well in the past, with a P4 in both 2021 and 2022, and a second place after starting from the pole in 2023, the year he was crowned Moto2™ World Champion. We have no doubt that once he has gotten his hands around the layout on the MotoGP™ machine, Pedro Acosta could be a strong finisher this weekend.
Augusto Fernandez will return to the Red Bull Ring with his MotoGP™ machine, a track that he enjoys quite a lot and suits his riding style well. Silverstone was a bit tricky, but the feeling improved as the weekend went by, a round that could have had a better end, had the number 37 not seen his tires drop massively during Sunday’s main show. The Spaniard will be determined to improve himself, and find a way to unlock his potential, in front of Austrian fans.
