Red Bull KTM Tech3 can confirm that Pol Espargaró will continue with the team for this weekend’s Grand Prix of Aragón (28-30 August), as Maverick Viñales remains focused on his ongoing recovery.
Following his return to MotoGP action at Silverstone for the British Grand Prix, where the Spaniard finished a respectable 13th in Sunday’s main event, Espargaró will once again join Enea Bastianini on the grid at MotorLand Aragón for Round 13 of the 2026 MotoGP™ World Championship.
Viñales continues to work closely with his medical team, KTM and Tech3 as he dedicates his time to making a full recovery. The team remains hopeful that the #12 rider will be able to make his return to competition for the Grand Prix of San Marino at Misano next month (11-13 September).
Nicolas Goyon, Team Manager said: “Together with Maverick and KTM, we have decided that Pol will continue with us in Aragón so that Maverick can continue to focus on his recovery. Pol did a solid job for the team at Silverstone, and his experience means he is well placed to step in again this weekend.
“The most important thing for us is that Maverick takes the time he needs to recover properly. We are supporting him throughout this process and remain hopeful that we can welcome him back at Misano. Until then, we will focus on Aragón and continue to give Pol and Enea our full support.”
