Following a rainy Saturday in Motegi which saw the schedule slightly disrupted, everything went back to normal today as the sun was shining over the Mobility Resort Motegi for the Grand Prix of Japan. Raul Fernandez and Remy Gardner were starting from P20 and P22 as the lights went out for the opening round of the overseas tour, at 15:00 (GMT+9).
It was no surprise that the rain was on the menu this weekend at the Mobility Resort Motegi, but it was definitely not expected in the way it has been on Saturday. Since early morning, the rain had settled in Motegi, Japan, thus welcoming back on track MotoGP riders Remy Gardner and Raul Fernandez for the Free Practice 2. But it never really stopped, and a heavy rain completely disrupted today’s schedule, with the FP3 being cancelled to leave space for only the two qualifying sessions in the afternoon.
New continent, new schedule...The MotoGP action kicked off at Motegi Mobility Resort on Friday for the first day of the Grand Prix of Japan, in a slightly different way than we are used to. Raul Fernandez and Remy Gardner went on track for only one session (FP1) for one hour and fifteen minutes.
