Straight after the latest round of the MotoGP World Championship last weekend at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya the premier class field was back on Monday for an official day of testing. Due to heavy rain on Sunday night, track conditions haven’t been ideal this morning, which delayed the action for half an hour and affected the early lap times.
Starting the seventh round of the season from the 16th position on the grid, Iker Lecuona came off the line well to finish lap one in 11th. Gradually he was making his way to the top 10 and even managed to snatch ninth position, which he defended with a steady pace. Yet, the Spanish youngster was unlucky to crash out of the Catalan Grand Prix with just seven laps to go.
After he managed to improve his fastest lap time from Friday in FP3 this morning, Iker Lecuona had a difficult FP4 and Qualifying. In both sessions, he was pushing hard and managed to jump up the order, but went down two times. Yet, the Spaniard concluded Qualifying one in P6, which means he’ll start the seventh Grand Prix of the 2021 season from the sixth row of the grid.
