Following a challenging first day at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, both Red Bull KTM Tech3 riders managed to step forward throughout sunny Saturday.

With a slightly improved feeling on his shoulder injury, Miguel Oliveira went 0.936 quicker in FP3 than his best lap on Friday, whereby he missed out on a possible direct Q2 entry by only 0.086 seconds. Yet, the Portuguese MotoGP rookie couldn’t repeat his fast 1:33.426 during the short Qualifying session this afternoon and eventually finished in ninth. Meanwhile, Hafizh Syahrin did his personal best lap during Q1 today, whereas he missed out on his teammate by just 0.160 seconds to end up in the seventh row of the grid for tomorrow’s 27 laps race at 14.00 local time.

Time: 1:34.162

"This Saturday started very good for us, as we were quite fast in the third Free Practice. But in Qualifying I was struggling a lot with the rear grip. We made a few changes on the rear end of the bike, that didn’t work 100 percent. Anyway, this weekend was really without any expectations of anything, so I’m just keen on doing a good start tomorrow and hopefully finishing inside the points."

Hafizh Syahrin

Position: 20th

Time: 1:34.322

Laps: 8

"Finally, we managed to improve our lap time slightly, but we were still missing a bit of lean angle in turning. Tomorrow morning, we will try to choose the best tyre for the race distance. I will try to do my best and I hope I can stay on my bike, as the race is going to be very long and hot, so we will see. We aim to do our best, as always and my target is to do better than in Silverstone last time out."
