Red Bull KTM Tech3 rider Miguel Oliveira showed some steady progress during Saturday’s sessions for the Gran Premio Red Bull de España at the Jerez Circuit, being 1.644 seconds faster in Free Practice three than on Friday morning. Anyway, the Portuguese MotoGP rookie has to fight from row eight on the grid tomorrow.

Yet, Hafizh Syahrin was working a lot in the course of day two following a tough opening on European soil. The Malaysian lowered his lap time from Friday’s FP1 by 1.051 seconds to conclude Qualifying one in 13th position ahead of tomorrow’s demanding 25 laps race at 14.00 local time.

Miguel Oliveira

Position: 12th

Time: 1:38.894

Laps: 8

"It was a tricky day, although we were able to be a lot faster than yesterday. In Qualifying we couldn’t match the best lap time from FP3, which was a bit disappointing. At the moment we struggle to find the best feeling on the bike and to go fast, so it was not the best of the weekends so far, but we still have the race tomorrow and many laps to try our best as always and to manage to find a good pace."

Hafizh Syahrin

Position: 13th

Time: 1:40.042

Laps: 8

"I didn’t have a good feeling with the bike today. We tried to find a decent setup, but in the end, it has been a bit disappointing for everybody. To be honest, I was a bit confused as we tried many different things and in the end, it was difficult to break the 1’40s mark. We need to make a step forward and try tomorrow. I hope we can stay with some other riders during the race."
