Following a tricky Catalan Grand Prix, but a fruitful official test day on Monday, both, Danilo Petrucci and Iker Lecuona can’t wait to arrive at the Sachsenring this weekend in order to transform their positive findings from testing to results during the eighth round of the 2021 MotoGP World Championship.
Straight after the latest round of the MotoGP World Championship last weekend at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya the premier class field was back on Monday for an official day of testing. Due to heavy rain on Sunday night, track conditions haven’t been ideal this morning, which delayed the action for half an hour and affected the early lap times.
Starting the seventh round of the season from the 16th position on the grid, Iker Lecuona came off the line well to finish lap one in 11th. Gradually he was making his way to the top 10 and even managed to snatch ninth position, which he defended with a steady pace. Yet, the Spanish youngster was unlucky to crash out of the Catalan Grand Prix with just seven laps to go.
